Rewards Of Fearing God Part 1

The fear of the Lord is not merely dread or terror but encompasses reverence, of awe, and obedience towards Him. As we learn more about His love and care for us, we begin fearing the thought of not having Him involved in our daily lives.

The following verses from the King James Version of the Bible tell us the rewards given to those who fear God.

Proverbs 9:10; The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Psalm 25;14; The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.

Proverbs 22:4;By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life.

Psalm 34:9; O fear the Lord, ye his saints; for there is no want to them that fear him.

Proverbs 19:23; The fear of the Lord tendeth to life; and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Psalm 128:1; Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways.

Proverbs 10:27; The fear of the Lord prolongeth days; but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

Proverbs 14:26; In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence; and his children shall have a place of refuge.

Psalm 112:1; Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

Psalm 145:19; He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him; he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

These verses underscore that embracing the proper fear of God leads to profound spiritual insight, divine guidance, material blessings, protection, and fulfillment of desires. It establishes a solid foundation for a life of obedience and righteousness, ensuring the favor and provision of the Almighty God. In the next message of this series, we will read verses that explain how we are to fear the Lord, and it does not mean we have to worry about him hurting us, on the contrary it becomes more of a fear of not having him in our daily lives.
