How To Praise And Worship God

All though Thanksgiving, Prais and Worship can overlap, they are three distinct acts. Thanking God for His goodness is a form of praise but it does not cover the full aspect of praise. Thanksgiving and praise are forms of worship, but worship is so much more. Let’s dive into these separately.

Thanksgiving: is thanking God for all His goodness and mercy. Taking time to look at all the good things in life God has done for you and your loved ones. This could be material blessings such a place to live while others are homeless, food to eat while others go to bed hungry, to live in peace while others are at war, finding that dollar bill on the ground, protection from enemies, or simply just thanking Him for that good day that did not bring any troubles. If we really reflect on our lives, we can surely find something to be thankful for.

Praise: is recognizing and speaking God’s unimaginable wisdom, love and mercy. Imagine your best friend creates a wonderful piece of art, or builds a world changing app. You might say things like wow that is beautiful, how did you imagine that. You are an awesome artist, good job.

You might say things like your app is so helpful, thank you for creating it. How did you think of that? Your ability to see what people need is amazing. I am so proud of you.

It is no different than giving God praise for all His marvelous works. Thank to yourself God, how does the sun; being a giant ball of gas keep burning for millions of years without exploding? How did You think to create so many different types of life? How did you get all the planets to form and orbit the sun? Father, you created plants for our food, and exchange fresh air for us to breath, Father how did you think to design our bodies to work. The angels in heaven to serve You and look over us humans. God why do you even take time to consider us humans? This list could run longer than one terabit hard drive. So, look around and you find many things to praise God for.

Worship: this is not as difficult as people think. To begin everything we covered in Thanksgiving and Praise are forms of worship. Now let’s take worship deeper. Have you ever heard the fraise he worships the ground she walks on? This was a common fraise to describe a man’s actions and words towards a girl he loved. What made people say that? They observed his actions towards her. Just by loving a woman a man will want to be the best version of himself, and not only the best version of himself, but what he believes she wants him to be. If she respects kindness a man that loves her will become a kinder person. If she likes something he will do everything he can to provide it for her. If she hates evil people he will stop showing respect to evil people. He will always defend her, her will never speak badly about her. All this happens naturally out of love. If she does not love him, she might try to manipulate him into thinking and acting these ways, but he loves her she will not have to manipulate him. All the same if the man does not love her, but only peruses her from a selfish heart; then he will not Worship the ground she walks on he will instead become abusive to her, try to change her into what he wants her to be, or only give her enough attention to keep her love.

This is the same with worshiping God. It is not only speaking words or thanking Him for His goodness but understanding what God likes and what God hates. If you truly love Him, you will learn all you can about him, and live a life of worship towards Him. God gave you a love letter. It’s called the Bible. As you read it you will understand Him and His ways. If you by nature start to walk in His ways then you not only love Him, but you are living a life of worship towards Him. If you do not naturally change into a life of worship then you do not truly love God. You are only doing what you think is enough to keep His love. You are unwittingly abusing Him. Asking for needs to be met, asking for your hearts desires, asking God to give you His all while you only give enough to satisfy your own emotions. Just like the abusive man that lust after a girl for what she can do for him, not caring about any hurt he may cause her.

Start with giving God thanksgiving and praise every day, reading a chapter or two of the Bible to learn about Him, then if truly love God a life of worship will become the natural life you want to live.

Love God, and be blessed.
